Silagra is a generic drug, with it brand name being Viagra. It contains the same salt which is Sildenafil which is also present in Viagra. This oral prescription is used to treat erectile dysfunction, a condition where a man finds it extremely difficult to maintain a proper erection which is required for proper sexual activity. It enhances the flow of blood into the erectile organ which helps in an erection to last for a longer duration.

Dosage suitable for Silagra

The recommended dosage of Silagra is 50mg. The dose has to be prescribed and taken exactly as it has been directed by your health care professional. Silagra is usually taken 4 hours before sexual activity. The frequency of the dose is only once a day.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, take it at the earliest. Do not double the dose.

Warnings for Silagra

A proper physical examination is required before you start with the treatment. Health conditions like multiple myeloma, leukemia and sickle cell anaemia must be reported to your health care professional. Do not use Silagra along with other medicines as there are chances of drug interactions. Patients suffering from retinitis pigmentosa should not be given Silagra. The use of alcohol should be minimized as it can enhance the side effects of the drug. Silagra cannot be used by pregnant, lactating women and pediatrics.

The following drugs cause an interaction if taken along with Silagra

Nitroglycerin - Transderm-Nitro, Nitro-Time, Nitrostat , Nitro-Par, Nitrol Ointment, Nitrogard, Nitrodisc, Minitran, transdermal, Deponit, Top Nitro.

ISOSORBIDE MONONITRATE - Monoket Tablets, Ismo, Ismo, Imdur, Angicor, Monotrate, Vasotrate.

ISOSORBIDE DINITRATE – Isordil, Sorbitrate, Dilatrate –SR.

Silagra and all medications should be kept away from children. This pill should be stored at room temperature away from light and moisture, as there is a possibility of breaking down of important ingredients present in the drug with exposure towards light and moisture.
